We've had a busy few months and we are happy to share some updates and new products with you.
But first, If you've bought something from us over the last couple of months or so, please leave us a review as it really helps a small business like ours! Or even better, send us a testimonial that we can feature on our website.
Gerrit has busy been preparing his talk for the Open Hardware Summit in Edinburgh. In his talk, he’ll discuss how open-source hardware and community collaboration can make microbial protein fermentation accessible, helping to shape a more sustainable future for food production.
Kindly note that we will not be able to dispatch between 27 May and 1 June as we will be travelling to Scotland.
Pioreactor has launched a new 40ml version and is available via LabCrafter now!
This new and improved iteration of the Pioreactor comes with a taller vial design to accommodate double the amount of culture than the previous Pioreactor 20ml. Or you can use the additional space for more aeration potential. They've also made some improvements versus the Pioreactor 20ml, including:
- Raised optical density measurement level
- Larger stir bar for better mixing and agitation
- Poka-yoke design that ensures the vial is in the correct position every time
- A new vial cap with stainless steel needles and luer locks
More Pioreactor accessories have been added to our collection as well. Go check it out.
Another exciting new addition to our collection is the 5V boost converter with true shutdown. This was designed by Gerrit and has been featured on both Hackster.io and the Tindie blog! See the video at the end of the newsletter of a great project using our 5V boost converter.

New product!
We’ve added a weighing scale with 0.001g precision to our assortment. We've found this a great tool to have when making media for the Pioreactor.
